Dean Sponheim is a 4th-generation farmer from Osage, Iowa. He began strip-tilling in 1999 and launched a custom strip-till business in 2004. Sponheim also applies cover crops aerially. He is a member of the Rock Creek Watershed Advisory Board and helped develop the first watershed project plan in the state of Iowa based on the Iowa Nutrient Reduction Strategy goals. He's hosted and presented at several field days over the years, as his "real passion" is helping farmers work through the psychological challenges when implementing change.
