In this episode of "How We Did It: Stories from Independent Farm Equipment Innovators," we hear from farmer, inventor and researcher, Marion Calmer from Calmer Corn Heads. In part 3 of this 3-part series, Calmer discusses the challenges he faced in the field and in turning his ideas into reality. Watch it here >>
Calmer recounts the challenges and financial struggles his business faced that brought them perilously close to failure. But when the corn market took off, his company experienced a remarkable turnaround. "To almost go broke and then to watch it just go straight up, I still pinch myself," says Calmer.
Instilled with the value that you get far more out of life by giving than by taking, Calmer was dedicated to help farmers find the solutions they need. “We know what it’s like. Harvest is 24/7 when the crops are ready to go. And we want to be there to help them through that harvest.”
Calmer's ultimate goal is to see his customers thrive and values their input to help make things better, "The feedback is worth more than any amount of money."
